Welcome
They ask me, “Alissa why do you keep talking if no one is listening?” And I say it's because I need to share it... even if no one hears me.
I am writing this reoccurring newsletter as an honors project in the course Professional Writing Skills for the next 15 weeks (thanks Dr. Cook for the idea and approval). This newsletter is as much selfish as it is informative. Everyone should have an outlet to share things they are passionate about, even if it is an online portal such as this, to get thoughts out of their brain.
“Things I Want to Talk About, But No One Listens” is a newsletter that is exactly what it sounds like. Do not be thrown off by the title, as it is meant to be a light-hearted joke about how I like to ramble on and on about “things.” This probably comes from the fact that I am the youngest in a sea of siblings with spouses and offspring (all of whom I love very much).
Much like a bee to a flower, I consume content from every aspect of my life, dubbing myself a lifelong learner always looking for someone who knows something that I don’t. How else are we to learn if we think that we have nothing to learn?
My friend Taylor says, “If you’re the smartest person in the entire room, you’re in the wrong room.”
